This exercise is very challenging.I have learn new tools to create the depth of the cardboard box by using the extrude manipulator.(edit mesh>extrude).In order to create the depth we must move the manipulator own to the axis indicated.I also learn vertices>rotate tool>press insert key.This changes the manipulator to pivot point mode.Then we need to use the manipulator to pivot the points.I think that we need to familiarize with the tool if not we will face difficulties doing the 3D object. As this is our first time trying,it is very hard for us to get the steps correctly.Alot of time is spent discovering the tools and how to control it.Other than that i learn about edge ring tool and animation >chose create deformers>nonlinear>wave. This to make the cardboard look old.Next i also understand what the outliner does.(windows>outliner)
A outliner is a display of all the objects in the scene and being able to link the objects. I feel that this exercise is very difficult to complete.But in all i think that each exercise given each week let us have a chance to slowly understand the different functions in maya. As this will help in our future project.
