Reflection for texturing

This texturing exercise is very important to me, where it can be very useful. But i face with some challenges when i am doing the washboard. It is not done properly as some of the steps i did not know how to apply it. For the track texturing, it is still manageable. For the ticket booth, I feel that it is very interesting. Although the steps can be complicated but overall i am able to do it. But my ticket booth is different from the image shown. Finally my texturing exercise is done.! I have learn oimething new regarding the maya texturing. It would be of a great help to me when i am modelling my bus in project 1 as my bus texturing will be almost the same as the track texturing. I can also apply the transparency for my windows. As this step is use in texturing the washboard

Ticket Booth Texturing

We need to open, UV texture editor.
Create UVs > automatic mapping. Make the adjustment

This is shown in the perspective view

In the UVs editor we need to arrange the positon of the faces.

As shown here.

After arranging, it should look like this

Then we add the texture.> under the materials attributes,> add file to node> under the 3D textures>import the file in.

Press 6 the texture has been apply.

Different view

Then i go display>show all the polygons as shown

Repeat, the same steps.import the file.

Press 6, A ticket booth is form!:)

WashBoard Texturing

First we need to select bottom stringer>assign new material>blinn
Attribute editor>common material attributes>chose button next to colour

Recreate the wood material setting.
Outliner> we need to organised the parts and group it together

We need to chose the materials needed. Then duplicate the washboard_wood texture

We chose leather texture under the 3D textures. make the neccessary adjustment

We then need to adjust the cell colour and crease colour.
Adjust the value as stated in the pdf file. Then lastly the transparency on the transparent slider.

Actually there are some difficulties face while doing. So i think what i have done is wrong

Track Texturing

First, assign new material>blinn from the menu, then in the attribut editor choose button next to color>create render node, under 2D textures choose ramp, next we need to adjust the color

After that we need to adjust the attribute editor> specular shading drop down, set eccentricity to specular roll off and reflectivity to the value stated. Create UVs planar mapping and in the channel box set the projection X Y to the value states.

Then follow on we need to add a bit of noise to the track color>open ramp, set val noise to a certain value> we chose brownian under the 3D Textures. Wee need to adjust the lacunarity, increment and octaves. After that a few steps of adjustment is needed.

Our track is form.

Reflection for project part 1

Project part 1 allows me to understand more indapt about my model. I actually notice that , before we start doing our project, we must first plan and analyze what are we suppose to do. The process of planning is very important. With planning , i would be able to get the details faster and i will not be lost. It help a lot. Pre stage planning , research allows me to get ideas by looking at other people work and to see how we can improve ourselves. I think that with the ideas generate through the planning, it provides me with a clearer understanding on what is going on and what are the next step i should be doing.

In all planning is very important. Not just in project. Planning in everything we do. Therefore we will be able to manage our time and get things done orderly. Even enjoying ourselves, this is because we know how to plan our time. (:

4) Research

Link :http://library.creativecow.net/articles/cruz_nelson/car_wheel1.phpes

This link show the tutorial on how to create the rim of the wheel.
Basically, The approach taken are similar to the youtube video that is shown above, but this tutorial show a more indapt parts of the wheels

Some of the approach taken is challenging Eg like:Select object and Translate Y 10 units and then manipulate the cylinder into a triangular shape. The best way to do this is to go into your front view and manipulate your CV in component mode. Actually, this approach is use in our cardboard modeling using the front view and manipulate cylinder into a triangular shape.

It us curve tool to create the outline of the wheels and also surface revolve.(What we need to do now is create a smooth surface between the two surfaces and trim out what is not needed. This is something new.Select the revolved surface, if it's not selected already, and shift select the cylinder.
Go to Edit NURBS> Surface Fillet > Circular Fillet )

Reset settings - Select create curve on surface - hit fillet.
This approach is different compared to the simple modelling of wheel above. It just uses the common tool like extrude, bevel, edge ring tool, scale tool. Actually, this approaches maybe be different but the end result is the almost the same. Is just one is a simple wheel while the other is a more complex form of wheel. Which it looks more like a wheel rim.

This approach can be very important as i will be creating the wheels for my bus. I understand that this steps can be challenging. But while it is being compared with a simpler wheel it looks more appealing to me. It looks more professional.

For this project part one, I would want to try using this.

Link:http://www.freemayavideotutorials.com/maya-basics/maya-2012-tutorial-transparency-and-refractions.html

This is a tutorial where teaches me on transparency, basically for my school bus modeling. The bus include windows. The windows is transparent. Therefore this approach would help me in understanding the texturing and the transparency. I understand by using the refraction options it deals with refraction setting of given model. By adjusting the transparency, it gives me an very nice effect for the windows. Therefore, i think that this approach will definitely help in creating my transparent windows. Blinn can also be use.

As i cannot find tutorials for modeling a bus, I decided to find research that are similar to the model of mine. Basically, Extrusion is something i had done mostly during the lab session. This extrusion would allows me to create the curve on top of the wheels. ( Images explain best :) )

This is an extrude along curve. It uses arc tool> three point circular tool > extrude manipulator.
This approach would help me in modeling my bus model. It is simple and not too complex. Actually i realize that there are a lot and variety of ways to create a similar shape of model.

Link:http://www.freemayavideotutorials.com/tutorials/video-extrude-along-curve-nurbs.html

Lastly, I plan to use extrusion along path and also trying extrusion along curve for modelling my wheels. I have successfully uses extrusion during the modeling of the cardboard box.
I also plan to use boolean> difference for my model. To model parts like the window plane, front plane and more. Bus model has a lot of small components that require me to use boolean tool.
Boolean>difference has been successfully apply for the block modelling and train modelling.

For tools like edge ring tool can also be use. For the edge of my school bus. But there is some point where edge ring tool is not use successfully. Some edge might be accidentally selected and this will eventually lead to a wrong formation of the polygon.

In all this is my research done for my project part one.

Project Part Question 1 and 2

1) Story

The warm rays of the morning sun shine brightly into the room of a rat name Ratatouille. He woke up from his sleep, brush his teeth, clean himself up,have his breakfast and all ready for the ride on his mousetrap car.He jump into the mousetrap car and started racing around. After a moment, while he was enjoying himself on the race track. He notice a yellow school bus. To his surprised the bus driver has fallen asleep. He took a quick glance at the kids, They were chit chatting and playing among themselves. No one realized that the bus driver has fallen asleep. Ratatouille saw the bus travelling faster and faster and it was almost as fast as a deer. The school bus is going down slope and dangerously going to crash onto a lamp pole by the road side. He quickly jumps up from his mousetrap car and tried to reach out for the school bus. He got hold of the side of the window. Then he climb anxiously through the small window gap of the bus that is open. Luckily, he gets hold of the steering and steer his way back to the track. “What a relief!” he exclaimed. Ratatouille hole on to the brake and stop the car safely by the road side. He thought of biting the bus driver to wake him up. He ponder for a moment and he look at his watch. “It was almost 9” ratatouille murmured to himself. The children will be late for school. Therefore he decided to carry on driving the big school bus with the huge sterring and transport the children’s to school. Ratatouille smile (: I have save the day !

2) Shape

I have decided to choose a yellow school bus. Yellow school bus is a model that is very unique and special. This model can be difficult and challenging. As there are more parts compare to other chosen object by my friends. Especially the front view/ front part of the school bus and the part where the wheels are allocated. The shape looks a bit irregular or maybe I need to create two different shape together and snap it to point. The body of the bus looks quite straight forward to me. But I have not started modeling it. It might turn out to be a tedious part for the body too. Where the inside of the bus is hollow and it is filled with seats. So I need to think of what are the techniques to used to make the bus(inside) . Where else It is not really complex. This is because the techniques that are mostly taught in our lab session can be applied while I am modeling my school bus. As long as I can see it you have to model the parts out. Seats are also needed as the windows of the yellow school bus are transparent.

Small Components

The seats in the school bus is simple to model. I just have to create one perfect seat and then select the seat> duplicate as many as I want to. Maybe 38 to 40 seats. In order to make it look nice, I can use the techniques like beveling to make the edge looking not so sharp. The smoothness where smooth> changing the division to 2. The back light and front light of the school bus, maybe I can add some lighting on the lights of the school bus. I can see the steering in front for the bus driver to control the car. Including the stop sign, the wheels and the text on the school bus. All this small little components are simpler to model out compared to modeling the shape of the bus.

The numbers and types of primitive shapes

The numbers of primitive shapes are around: 10

There are different primitive shapes found in this school bus. Basically the more common ones are

* Cube

* Prism

* Square

* Octagon

* Rectangle

The polygon shapes that are needed to model this school bus are

* Cubes( Long one for the body of the bus)

* Torus, pipe (The wheels)

* Plane ( For the bottom of the bus)

* Prism shapes( For the front part of the bus)

* Cylinder ( For linking the wheels together)

Amount

* 19 + door and front and back screen panel.

* 6 wheels for travelling

* 38 to 40 seats

* 16 spot lights

* 2 door (One at the side, One at the back(The emergency door)) for the side door. It is split in half. Means its open in the middle ( gap)

Surface

The surface of the bus is smooth and with a shiny look/surfaces. I thought of using ramp to create the feel. The windows are also shiny but it is transparent. (Change the opacity). The wheel of the bus is rough with a rubber texture. There is a lot extrusion and Boolean use to make the bus looks real or come to life.

Technical Aspects

The techniques that I had learn using maya during the lab session is all relevant in developing and building my school bus model.

After thinking through, looking at my model, trying to analysis the different components and parts.

(Body of the bus) ( Front of the bus)

The long rectangular cube. The body of the bus is split into 10 parts ( I can use split polygon tools to split in proportionally) . The edge looks sharp using the edge ring tool> select the edge > bevel it> beveling. Extrusion or Boolean > difference can be use to create the windows of the bus. As it looks extruded inwards. Extrude and Scale manipulator can be use to make flap for the door as it looks like the flaps of the cardboard box we create. For the wheels created I need to use the align tool centering the position of the different part of the bus. I can also use Boolean > subtract or difference. This would create an effect like this. For the front of the bus, I can use extrusion for the front panel and Boolean subtract for the wheels. Beveling for the edge of the polygons to make it smoother rather than sharp.

I can also create UV’s types of UV’s mapping for the texture of the bus. Blinn>ramp can also be a choice for me to create the texture.

About the Research

Teacher. I would like to inform you that, At the beginning of this IN3D blog , I had posted some of the Research regarding to 3D in the first few posts. Thank you. The post can be found in the first few post ( Under October 2011 ) Thank you ! :)

The Title of the research:
What is 3D?
The world we live is in 3D
WHat is dimension?

What are 3D Shaders?

Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shader

Shaders: A shader is a computer program. It is use to calculate rendering effects on graphics hardware with a high degree of flexibility.

Basically, there are different types of shaders Pixel, Geometry and Vertex Shaders.

Pixel Shaders : It is also known as fragment shaders . I t is use to compute the colour and the other attributes of each of the pixel.

Geometry Shaders: It can be said to be a new type of shader. It can generate new graphics primitives. They are like points, Lines, shape in general.

Vertex Shaders: It is a shader that will generate when vertex is given to the graphics processor. "The purpose is to each vertex in 3D position in virtual space to the 2D coordinate at which it appears on the screen (as well as a depth value for the Z-buffer)." Quote from paragraph.
It can also generate/ manupilate properties like colors,position,textures...but not to create a new vertex/vertices

Modelling Process

Link : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_modeling

There are 3 ways to represent a model

1)Polygonal Modelling

2)Curve Modelling

3)Digital Sculpting

Polygonal Modelling

They are actually Points available in 3D space. This are called vertices. Vertices are connected by the line segment in order to form a polygonal models. This is because it is flexible and also computers is being able to render quickly

Example :

3D polygonal modelling of a human face

Curves Modelling

Curve modelling are surfaces that define by curves. The weighted control points are being influenced.
"Curve types include Nonuniform rational B-spline (NURBS), Splines, Patches and geometric primitives."Quote from the paragraph.

Sculpting Modelling

Scuplting Modelling is something new in the industries. But 3D scuplting is popular.

There are 3 types of scuplting Displacement, volumetric and dynamic tessellation.

Displacement is most commonly used.

What are they ?

Explanation from the website:

Displacement uses a dense model (often generated by Subdivision surfaces of a polygon control mesh) and stores new locations for the vertex positions through use of a 32bit image map that stores the adjusted locations.

Volumetric which is based loosely on Voxels has similar capabilities as displacement but does not suffer from polygon stretching when there are not enough polygons in a region to achieve a deformation.

Dynamic tesselation Is similar to Voxel but divides the surface using triangulation to maintain a smooth surface and allow finer details

Representation of 3D modelling

Link : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_modeling

As said, 3D models can be seperated into two categories.
They are Solid and Shell/Boundary.

Solid

  • Under the solid category. "These models define the volume of the object they represent (like a rock). These are more realistic, but more difficult to build". "Solid models are mostly use for nonvisual stimulation."Quote from the paragraph.(eg medical and engineering simulations)

Shell/Boundary

  • The models represent the surface of the object and it's not the volume. "(like an infinitesimally thin eggshell)." Quote from the paragraph. This Shell/Boundary models are easier compared to the solid models.

Research on 3D Modelling

Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_modeling

Basically, 3D modelling can also be called as meshing. It is steps that we do, develop a mathematical represention of the 3- Dimensional of the surface of the object. After we have done modelling. The modelling is called 3D product.Image can be displayed as two-dimensional through a process called 3D Rendering

There is process learn :
3D Rendering/Computer Stimulation of pyhsical phenomena

Models can be created:
Automatically
Manually: The process and preparation of geomeotric data for 3D computer graphics is also the same as plastic arts such as sculpting.

Using the collection of points in 3D space it 3D model represent the 3D Object. It is connected with various geomeotrical shapes, triangle, cube lines and more. If we start collecting the data, which means the collection of different points, we will finally create a 3D model by hands- algorithmically (procedural modeling).

Reflection for Week 4 ( E-learning)

I feel that this E-learning allows me to learn more independently. As i know that it is my own responsibility to do my work and hand it in on time. After reading the extract or the article. I think that although the extract/article can be long, but the content is very meaningful to me. I have indeed understand more about the advantages and disadvantages of multi-tasking and why professors, researchers are still researching on this topic of content. I feel that multi-tasking. like laptop, messaging, ipod were use when we are in the lesson. This might eventually cause distraction to oneself or worse still it might even distract the person beside you. This distraction will cause the students not paying attention in class and they would miss out on the important fact during the lesson.
Slowly down the extract and the online article. I learn more and i understand about learning and communication. Personally, at first i feel that learning is something we need in our life. We need to learn in order for us to succeed and we learn during this age thus we will find a better job in future. As nowadays a certificate is very important. But slowly, when i started studying in polytechnic,i feel that learning is totally different from secondary school. It is definitely more complex. In secondary we have teachers by our side to guide us along. But in poly, we need to be independent when we do our work as it is a tertiary education.Follow by communication. While basically, I feel that communication is a very important aspect. We need to communicate everyday. But the point is not just communication. We need to communicate well. Thus we will be able to work together and we will understand more about each other. In all i feel that this E- learning is very different . As i do not need to use maya to create 3D object/product.This E-learning is learning outside of 3D. It gives me a brand new experience

Week 4 Lab 2 (E-learning) Thinking Outside the Traditional 3D Mindset review

Does multi-tasking give you a real or false sense of having accomplished something?

After reading the article.I have understand the different views from the professors regarding multi-tasking. In the terms, why they think it is good/bad or neutral.Basically the article is trying to give examples by showing and testing different person /The test they had taken for people(experiment). Actually i think that each person has their own characteristics. So we can't compare a person to another person. As everyone has their own way of learning, they have their own style of studying(eg).Everyone would prefer to learn differently.Attitude is also very important.Attitude towards thing/studies,each would use different method, each will have different attitude .Each think differently. In my view I think that some people would prefer multi-tasking as they feel that it is necessary to.But others don’t feel it that way. Some feel that multi-tasking gives them a real sense of accomplishment. This is because they are doing a few things in one time.

But,personally, I feel that multi-taking gives me a false sense of having accomplished in something. This is because, I felt that multi-tasking would drift off my attention to some other things rather than paying attention to what I am suppose to do. This might lead to a worse situation where I have miss out the important things that had been said earlier on. In my point of view , whenever I does a few things in one goal,I will feel very confused and stress up. As I am not being able to focus on the only one thing. This might resulted me not doing a good job, or I will feel afraid that the task being done is not of my best effort.Because my mind is spilt as in split into learning different things. You might not know whether you have done a good piece of work when you multi-task.

Is learning 3D and design different from programming or is all learning the same? Why?

Learning is the knowledge acquired by systematic study in any field of scholarly application.
Learning is the act or process of acquiring knowledge or skill.
Psychology . the modification of behavior through practice, training, or experience.

We started learning since we were very young. We learn 123.ABC. We learn new things in our everyday life.Generally,by comparing in a more indapt form,we look more indapt to the subject between learning 3D/design or programming. There is a difference.3D uses software that are very complex. We need to slowly explore with the different tools. We uses tools in the software like maya to create an 3-Dimensional object. It is very challenging as we must be patience while doing. Working on 3D isn't simple. This is because we must first being able to see in 3D and slowly develop to a better 3D learner.

While design,It is something that require not just the skill in drawing/sketching,handling photoshop.illustrator. Design also requires creativity,innovative/coming out with innovative idea/inspiration in order to create a good piece of work.

Programming. It is totally different compare to 3D and design. As progammings are computer language. We need to use source code in order to communicate with the computer. It is a large chunk of codes.pseudo codes ,variables, function.Everything uses codes. Thus sometimes programming can be dry and static. After thinking actually learning are all the same. This are all learning,we are learning new skills, gaining new knowledge, experience new things as to help us improve in our daily life as to overcome challenges. We learn because we are interested,we learn because of our future. We learn because of many reasons.Actually learning 3D,design,programming,english,maths.They are all the same. They are a stepping stone of knowledge we carried on in our life. Everyone learn different things everyday. But the most important key point is in you, whether you want to learn. So attitude and mindset matters. You might like 3d,but hate programming.Actually, have we ever try to make friends with programming and slowly like them.Set the correct mindset. You will find that learning is all the same.

The article states that “Learning is actually a very complex operation for an individual”. Do you agree with this? Do you feel that you approach your learning in the best way – if yes, how, and if no, how can you change your work style?

Learning is actually a very complex operation for an individual.I agree.Since we were young,we have started learning.Learning to crawl, sit, walk, run, cycle a bicycle, talk, when we go to school, we learn ABC,12345.Slowly we grow up and we go to primary school.Meeting new friends in life.We learn how to communicate. We learn english, maths, science, chinese. Then follow by secondary school, polytechnic, junior college, university. We learn everyday.Slowly we learn more complex things. We took test and exams each semester to test our understanding of each subjects and to test on what we have learn.I think that learning is not easy. It is stressful. Sometimes even feel helpless when we met with difficulties in our studies. But teachers, friends are always there to lend a helping hand. But when we were young learning can be simple.Like A for Apple.B for Ball. Actually this just come naturally to us.

I feel that i have approach my learning in the best way.As i will always strive for the best in learning or better in my learning. This is because,if i approach my learning in the best way. There might be a lot of benefits. I can be more efficient in my academic.I will pay attention in class and try to keep focus and not get distracted easily.Whenever in doubt,I will ask for help from my friend or teachers. I would bring all my necessary notes for lesson and copy down the important points. This will help as when exam are approaching i am able to just read the important key points rather than the whole text book. I will also get my work done on time. As this is my responsibilty as a student. It is my own learning. So i must be responsible and do it well. My parents work so hard funded my studies. So i must work hard and study hard.Whenever my friends need help, i will try to help.As this will help me improve myself. When you teach a person you might have practice the same question twice. Thus i will be more confident and familarise with the question. In all i still thinks that attitude matters alot. (:

What are your thoughts about the last paragraph in the extract?

After reading the extract,I feel that talent, personality is not the main key to success.Although this are still a key point to success.Personally i feel that the main key to success is attitude.Attitude is manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc., with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, especially of the mind: a negative attitude; group attitudes.
It is also a position or posture of the body appropriate to or expressive of an action, emotion, etc.: a threatening attitude; a relaxed attitude.

The last paragraph talks about communication.Communication is the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs.Communication is important.Since young,we learn how to communicate within each other, friends, family in order to pass down message.Firstly,it talks about team members in the paragraphs. Team members need to built rapport between each other. Thus this will give them an opportunity to understand each person views and opinion. This will reduce conflict and unhappiness between each other. As when this are reduce.Problems will not be aroused easily. It will then allow the team members to work together more efficiently and work well with each other..I totally agree that communication is a common thing. But able to communicate well is different .This will leave a impression of you to other people. Being able to communicate so as to accomplished the task fufilling the requirement.Communication plays a important role in our life. If people do not communicate or does not communicate well, this will result in chaotic in the world as conflict might be aroused. If there is no communication, the world will be in silence, human beings will be cold towards each other. As many express feelings through communication. I believe that communicating is a criteria to achieved fulfilling results. The results can be a success in the things that you do. The results can be your goal.

Should your lecturers also focus on your work attitude, or just leave you to sink or swim on your own? Why?

Personally,I think that lecturers should focus on our work attitude and not just leaving us to sink or swim on our own.Attitude is a important key to every single component. If the lecturers focus on our work attitude, they are being able to communicate and understand what are our needs, problems and doubts we are facing. Thus there are someone there to lend a helping hand, this would allow the students to clear their doubts and problem and not just leaving it unsolved.By focusing and observing the students work attitude, the lecturers would be able to organised their teaching base on our progression of work and also are we able to manage and cope with the current plan of teaching,This would also help the lecturers to find out which teaching method suits us and which do we prefer. There are advantages and disadvantages .If the lecturers just leave us to sink or swim on our own.I feel that if some of the students whom are slower in learning or catching up will eventually lack behind and worse lost. They might suffer through the semester without getting help. The attitude for the subject will change. This is because we might be facing problems coping and understanding the subject. This might result them to lost interest in the subject. As no one understand what are the problems we are facing. Soon more and more problems collated. We might lastly breakdown.

However the advantage is that by letting us swim on our own. This allow us to be independent and to be responsible for our work.We are responsible for our own studies. We should learn to be independent. When in doubts we must find a solution and not just wait for the lecturers to help us. They are not 24 hours there for us.So we have to be independent to find our solution. We can get help by asking friends and i always tell myself that every problem has a solution.

Lastly i feel that lecturers should get feedback each semester or frequently from their students about their teaching. This would help the lecturers by undertstanding whether the teaching method is efficient and does it helps in their progression of works or is there any changes to be made to make the teaching even better and students learn better too. :)

Reflection for WashBoard Modelling

This washboard modelling is similar to the track modelling as it is not very challenging. But i still face some difficulties while i am doing this exercise. I am stuck under the aligning of object whenever we use the align tool. It takes sometime for me to figure out how is it suppose to be align. In all i think that the washboard exercise is fun.I feel very satisfied whenever i finished my homework.(:

Reflection for Track Modelling

During this exercise. I have learn new tool like attribute editor > common material attributes drop this to create render node dialog.I think that each exercise i learn from week 1.I have slowly gaining more knowledge to maya. As i feel that the things get smoother and better in time when i do my exercise.I feel that is exercise is not as challenging as the cardboard modelling and is very straight forward.Half the exercise is done during our lab session. This would made things easier as teacher is there to guide us along and start with it.As when in doubts,it is easier for me to ask.In conclusion,i enjoy it.

Week 3 Lab 1 (Washboard Modelling)

In order to create the washboard, we need to create a cube. Then in the status line>channel box.We need to change the values of the depth, height, width accordingly.

Then a plan for the washboard is form.

After that we must right-click and select edge.Select the interior edges on the top of the box.

Follow by,press spacebar. In the hotbox control we need to chose edit mesh>bevel>set the value as stated.

As seen in the screenshot. The edges is being beval. The blue line.

Next we hold the right-click menu and choose Face.
After that we select the faces formed by the bevel on the top of the box.
In the Hotbox, choose Edit Mesh > Extrude.

The extrude manipulator appeared. Then we need to the manipulatorup a short distance on the Z axis.

This is how it look like.

After that we need to set the value in the local translate Z.This will set the value. Then right-click menu and choose Edge.Follow by select the faces formed by the bevel on the top of the box.

Next,we need to draw another polygon.A cube then follow by another cube.We need to set the value of the width, height and depth of the two polygons. As shown in the screenshot after i had change the value in the channel box.

Then we go to the top menu panel and chose modify>align tool.

We need to click on the align icons display around the pair of
objects.
Next,we need to click on the centering icons and place the panel in the center of the top header height-wise.

Side view.
Next, rotate in the panel to see the bottom alignicons, and center the panel depth-wise with thetop header.

Rotate in the panel to see the end align icons. Align the edge of the panel length-wise with the edge of the topheader.

Follow by creating a new polygon.Set the value of the width, height and depth. Then we use the align tool to align the objects together and also centered along the opposite
edge of the top panel.

Use the align tool to center the glass along the length and height of the top stringer.

As you can see

It is being align.

Then set the absolute values display to relative transform with the drop-down menu.

Create a new polygon along the width. For the base. After that set the value of the subdivision of width, height and depth.

Then we need to create the leg of the washboard. We need to draw a polygon. And then set the value
in the channel box. After that, use the align tool to align it as shown in the screen shot.

We duplicate the leg and repeat the same steps above. After aligning, a washboard is done.

On the main menu bar>outliner

As shown in the screen shot, then
drag glass over top_header in the outliner.Ther should be a (+) sign beside. The (+) sign shows that it is link together.

The washboard is done! I colour it!(:
