Reflection for texturing
Ticket Booth Texturing

We need to open, UV texture editor.Create UVs > automatic mapping. Make the adjustment

This is shown in the perspective view
In the UVs editor we need to arrange the positon of the faces.
As shown here.
After arranging, it should look like this
Then we add the texture.> under the materials attributes,> add file to node> under the 3D textures>import the file in.
Press 6 the texture has been apply.
Different view
Then i go display>show all the polygons as shown
Repeat, the same steps.import the file.
Press 6, A ticket booth is form!:)
WashBoard Texturing

First we need to select bottom stringer>assign new material>blinnAttribute editor>common material attributes>chose button next to colour
Recreate the wood material setting.Outliner> we need to organised the parts and group it together
We need to chose the materials needed. Then duplicate the washboard_wood texture
We chose leather texture under the 3D textures. make the neccessary adjustment
We then need to adjust the cell colour and crease colour.
Adjust the value as stated in the pdf file. Then lastly the transparency on the transparent slider.
Actually there are some difficulties face while doing. So i think what i have done is wrong
Track Texturing
After that we need to adjust the attribute editor> specular shading drop down, set eccentricity to specular roll off and reflectivity to the value stated. Create UVs planar mapping and in the channel box set the projection X Y to the value states.
Then follow on we need to add a bit of noise to the track color>open ramp, set val noise to a certain value> we chose brownian under the 3D Textures. Wee need to adjust the lacunarity,increment and octaves.After that a few steps of adjustment is needed.
Our track is form.

Reflection for project part 1
In all planning is very important. Not just in project. Planning in everything we do. Therefore we will be able to manage our time and get things done orderly. Even enjoying ourselves, this is because we know how to plan our time. (:
Project Part 1 Question 3 and 4

4) Research
Link :http://library.creativecow.net/articles/cruz_nelson/car_wheel1.phpes
This link show the tutorial on how to create the rim of the wheel.
Basically, The approach taken are similar to the youtube video that is shown above, but this tutorial show a more indapt parts of the wheels
Some of the approach taken is challenging Eg like:Select object and Translate Y 10 units and then manipulate the cylinder into a triangular shape. The best way to do this is to go into your front view and manipulate your CV in component mode. Actually, this approach is use in our cardboard modeling using the front view and manipulate cylinder into a triangular shape.
It us curve tool to create the outline of the wheels and also surface revolve.(What we need to do now is create a smooth surface between the two surfaces and trim out what is not needed. This is something new.Select the revolved surface, if it's not selected already, and shift select the cylinder.
Go to Edit NURBS> Surface Fillet > Circular Fillet )
Reset settings - Select create curve on surface - hit fillet. This approach is different compared to the simple modelling of wheel above. It just uses the common tool like extrude, bevel, edge ring tool, scale tool. Actually, this approaches maybe be different but the end result is the almost the same. Is just one is a simple wheel while the other is a more complex form of wheel. Which it looks more like a wheel rim.
This approach can be very important as i will be creating the wheels for my bus. I understand that this steps can be challenging. But while it is being compared with a simpler wheel it looks more appealing to me. It looks more professional.
For this project part one, I would want to try using this.
Link:http://www.freemayavideotutorials.com/maya-basics/maya-2012-tutorial-transparency-and-refractions.html
This is a tutorial where teaches me on transparency, basically for my school bus modeling. The bus include windows. The windows is transparent. Therefore this approach would help me in understanding the texturing and the transparency. I understand by using the refraction options it deals with refraction setting of given model. By adjusting the transparency, it gives me an very nice effect for the windows. Therefore, i think that this approach will definitely help in creating my transparent windows. Blinn can also be use.
As i cannot find tutorials for modeling a bus, I decided to find research that are similar to the model of mine. Basically, Extrusion is something i had done mostly during the lab session. This extrusion would allows me to create the curve on top of the wheels. ( Images explain best :) )
This is an extrude along curve. It uses arc tool> three point circular tool > extrude manipulator.
This approach would help me in modeling my bus model. It is simple and not too complex. Actually i realize that there are a lot and variety of ways to create a similar shape of model.
Link:http://www.freemayavideotutorials.com/tutorials/video-extrude-along-curve-nurbs.html
Lastly, I plan to use extrusion along path and also trying extrusion along curve for modelling my wheels. I have successfully uses extrusion during the modeling of the cardboard box.
I also plan to use boolean> difference for my model. To model parts like the window plane, front plane and more. Bus model has a lot of small components that require me to use boolean tool.
Boolean>difference has been successfully apply for the block modelling and train modelling.
For tools like edge ring tool can also be use. For the edge of my school bus. But there is some point where edge ring tool is not use successfully. Some edge might be accidentally selected and this will eventually lead to a wrong formation of the polygon.
In all this is my research done for my project part one.
Project Part Question 1 and 2
The warm rays of the morning sun shine brightly into the room of a rat name Ratatouille. He woke up from his sleep,brush his teeth,clean himself up,have his breakfast and all ready for the ride on his mousetrap car.He jump into the mousetrap car and started racing around. After a moment, while he was enjoying himself on the race track. He notice a yellow school bus. To his surprised the bus driver has fallen asleep.He took a quick glance at the kids, They were chit chatting and playing among themselves. No one realized that the bus driver has fallen asleep. Ratatouille saw the bus travelling faster and faster and it was almost as fast as a deer. The school bus is going down slope and dangerously going to crash onto a lamp pole by the road side. He quickly jumps up from his mousetrap car and tried to reach out for the school bus. He got hold of the side of the window. Then he climb anxiously through the small window gap of the bus that is open. Luckily, he gets hold of the steering and steer his way back to the track. “What a relief!” he exclaimed. Ratatouille hole on to the brake and stop the car safely by the road side. He thought of biting the bus driver to wake him up. He ponder for a moment and he look at his watch. “It was almost 9” ratatouille murmured to himself. The children will be late for school. Therefore he decided to carry on driving the big school bus with the huge sterring and transport the children’s to school. Ratatouille smile (: I have save the day !
2) Shape
I have decided to choose a yellow school bus. Yellow school bus is a model that is very unique and special. This model can be difficult and challenging. As there are more parts compare to other chosen object by my friends. Especially the front view/ front part of the school bus and the part where the wheels are allocated. The shape looks a bit irregular or maybe I need to create two different shape together and snap it to point. The body of the bus looks quite straight forward to me. But I have not started modeling it. It might turn out to be a tedious part for the body too. Where the inside of the bus is hollow and it is filled with seats. So I need to think of what are the techniques to used to make the bus(inside) . Where else It is not really complex. This is because the techniques that are mostly taught in our lab session can be applied while I am modeling my school bus. As long as I can see it you have to model the parts out. Seats are also needed as the windows of the yellow school bus are transparent.
Small Components
The seats in the school bus is simple to model. I just have to create one perfect seat and then select the seat> duplicate as many as I want to. Maybe 38 to 40 seats. In order to make it look nice, I can use the techniques like beveling to make the edge looking not so sharp. The smoothness where smooth> changing the division to 2. The back light and front light of the school bus, maybe I can add some lighting on the lights of the school bus. I can see the steering in front for the bus driver to control the car. Including the stop sign, the wheels and the text on the school bus. All this small little components are simpler to model out compared to modeling the shape of the bus.
The numbers and types of primitive shapes
The numbers of primitive shapes are around: 10
There are different primitive shapes found in this school bus. Basically the more common ones are
* Cube
* Prism
* Square
* Octagon
* Rectangle
The polygon shapes that are needed to model this school bus are
* Cubes( Long one for the body of the bus)
* Torus, pipe (The wheels)
* Plane ( For the bottom of the bus)
* Prism shapes( For the front part of the bus)
* Cylinder ( For linking the wheels together)
Amount
* 19 + door and front and back screen panel.
* 6 wheels for travelling
* 38 to 40 seats
* 16 spot lights
* 2 door (One at the side, One at the back(The emergency door)) for the side door. It is split in half. Means its open in the middle ( gap)
Surface
The surface of the bus is smooth and with a shiny look/surfaces. I thought of using ramp to create the feel. The windows are also shiny but it is transparent. (Change the opacity). The wheel of the bus is rough with a rubber texture. There is a lot extrusion and Boolean use to make the bus looks real or come to life.
Technical Aspects
The techniques that I had learn using maya during the lab session is all relevant in developing and building my school bus model.
After thinking through, looking at my model, trying to analysis the different components and parts.
(Body of the bus) ( Front of the bus)
The long rectangular cube. The body of the bus is split into 10 parts ( I can use split polygon tools to split in proportionally) . The edge looks sharp using the edge ring tool> select the edge > bevel it> beveling. Extrusion or Boolean > difference can be use to create the windows of the bus. As it looks extruded inwards. Extrude and Scale manipulator can be use to make flap for the door as it looks like the flaps of the cardboard box we create. For the wheels created I need to use the align tool centering the position of the different part of the bus. I can also use Boolean > subtract or difference. This would create an effect like this. For the front of the bus, I can use extrusion for the front panel and Boolean subtract for the wheels. Beveling for the edge of the polygons to make it smoother rather than sharp.
I can also create UV’s types of UV’s mapping for the texture of the bus. Blinn>ramp can also be a choice for me to create the texture.
